Amazon have chosen The Photographer’s Wife to be one of the first titles to be published by their new French publishing arm. The book is already being translated by Marie Chabin (who has translated Maeve Binchy amongst others in the past!) and should be out by Christmas. Joyeux Noel!

A big, fat interview with Yours Truly.
You can find a big interview with me here, where I talk about Amazon, self publishing, and writing in general. Great questions!
The Photographer’s Wife #2 in Amazon UK’s ebook chart
Amazon isn’t a monopoly… Yet…
Official figures say that Amazon holds about 80% of the UK ebook market, but my own figures would seem to suggest that it’s more like 95%. Yes, for every 95 books I sell on Amazon’s Kindle platform, I sell about 5 on iBooks, Kobo, Nook, and Google all put together! But that still doesn’t make Amazon a monopoly despite what many of their detractors like to claim. Continue reading
The Photographer’s Wife – well received!
The Photographer’s Wife has been out for exactly a month now, and has been very well received. It’s climbed the charts on Amazon (and is almost in the top 100) and so far all the reviews have been 4 or 5 star (bar one – there’s always one!) The blog reviews have been excellent too. Here’s a little smattering of Amazon and Goodreads reviews for your delectation 🙂

Amazon/Hachette? Not so fast, J.K.
The news has been full of stories about the feud between Amazon and Hachette these last few months. In a nutshell, Amazon have been trying to force Hachette to accept lower retailers pricing for some of their ebooks, and Hachette has been refusing. With Amazon halting pre-orders of some Hachette titles, and Hachette orchestrating public petitions from well known authors in their defence, most notably J.K Rowling and Stephen King, the least that can be said is that it’s been getting dirty. There have even been calls to boycott Amazon entirely.

Hi Res cover
Just got the hi res cover photo through from the photographer, Sam Javanrouh. Isn’t it a beautiful photo?
Not by me!
Dear readers. Please note that the following kindle titles: “102 Station Rd” “The Talking Wall”, and “Almost Free” *may* be by someone called Nick Alexander, but they’re not by me. The comments on Amazon would seem to indicate that there is much confusion about this, and not a little disappointment in the quality of the content.
My 11 titles are, in reverse order:
The Photographer’s Wife (The NEW ONE!)
Other Halves
The Half Life of Hannah
The French House
The Case Of The Missing Boyfriend
Sleight Of Hand
Better Than Easy
Good Thing, Bad Thing
Sottopassaggio
50 Reasons to Say Goodbye.
