2012 has been an amazing year for me bookwise and it’s all down to you, so thanks!
In January, I delivered the sequel for The Case Of The Missing Boyfriend to my publisher Corvus.
In February, thanks to the success of kindle edition of The Case Of The Missing Boyfriend, I managed to pay off my debts (I was up to my nipples in the stuff) AND replace my ailing Renault 19 which had developed murderous tendancies. Both of these werehuge weights off my mind which let me finally start to sleep properly again.
To celebrate finishing The Half-Life of Hannah, in August, I organised my biggest ever summer party in my mountain pad and everyone who came and camped in the garden declared it the best ever: we danced until 6am..
September saw me self-publish the ebook of The Half-Life of Hannah, which, thanks to your support, immediately went to the #1 slot in Amazon’s kindle chart. It is still in the top twenty today, almost ten weeks later and more than 70,000 people have it on their kindles and iPads! Amazing.
In October, I got to read at the launch party for the incredibly prestigious MIR#9 in which I have a story which was great fun.
2013 is looking to be no less eventful with the mass market paperback edition of The Case Of The Missing Boyfriend out inFebruary, the sequel, The French House out in eBook and paperback in April, and I’m still hoping to sell the paperback rights to The Half-Life of Hannah for later in the year. Watch this space…
The only thing still managing to elude me is love, but that surely can’t be far behind, can it?
I know that times are hard for many of you, and having just scraped through ten years of hard times myself, I know exactly what that means, so I wish you all the joy and luck you need for 2013.
Have a lovely Christmas and New Year, or whatever holiday you celebrate, and if you bump into a cute, gay, bearded forty-something casting around for an English writer living in France, send him my way!
